Weather Channel promotes exec to chief content officer, EVP

Entertainment Studios, the owner of The Weather Channel, has promoted Nora Zimmett to the role of chief content officer and executive vice president.
Zimmett was previously SVP for content and programming for the network.
In addition to responsibilities for overseeing The Weather Channel’s editorial and creative direction, Zimmett will also head up the launch of The Weather Channel en EspaƱol, the company’s foray into Spanish language programming.
She will continue to report to Tim O’Brien, the president of The Weather Group and EVP of Allen Media.
Entertainment Studios, founded by Byron Allen, owns the Weather Channel as well as producing its own slate of syndicated programming and running seven other 24 hour cable networks.
