James Corden is taking a break for his CBS late night talk show “The Late Late Show” — but why and will he be back?
- Corden will not host “Late Late” starting Monday, Dec. 9, 2019.
- He will return Dec. 18, mean he’s missing a total of seven shows (or roughly a week and a half).
- While he’s out, Alicia Keys, Harry Styles, Melissa McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Jeff Goldblum and Chance the Rapper are slated to fill in while the show continued to produce new episodes.
Corden, meanwhile, isn’t exactly resting up during his absence — he’ll be filming the move “The Prom.”
- The film, which is an adaption of a Broadway musical, features Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Awkwafina.
- It’s slated for a 2020 release.
- Corden also appeared in Disney’s “Into the Woods” (with Streep) before taking over hosting duties from Craig Ferguson in 2015.
- He’s also set to appear in the upcoming holiday release “Cats” and will star in a 2021 film adaptation of “Cinderella.”
