YouTube labeling government-funded news videos

YouTube has begun labeling video clips from government-funded networks:
- In one example, a video clip from Channel NewsAsia, has a light gray box reading “Mediacorp is funded in whole or in part by the Singapore government.”
- The box also includes a link to a Wikipedia article about the network in question.
- The label comes as websites crack down on biased or fake news reporting.
- Government owned networks are frequently questioned for biased reporting given the financial support they receive from officials.
