ABC Owned Television Stations and Participant have released a two part special under its “Our America” brand focusing on health equity during the time of COVID-19.

The two-part special will be moderated by Sandra Bookman of WABC in New York and “Here and Now” public affairs program and KTRK Houston Race and Culture reporter Rosie Nguyen.

This latest installment of the franchise is a two-part special is a roundtable panel discussion co-produced by ABC Owned Television Stations’ Race and Culture team and Participant that dives deeper into Participant’s “The First Wave” Impact Campaign.

The special will discuss health equity through the lens of the problems facing frontline healthcare workers and their mental health, the disproportionate effects of COVID on communities of color, and what’s being done at a number of levels to address existing inequities.

On the heels of Congress’ passage of the Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act, which aims to improve mental and behavioral health among health care providers and health care workers, this conversation is a timely reminder of the inequities pervading our health systems.

The special is available across ABC owned stations’ digital platforms and apps.
