Longtime Chicago media reporter Robert Feder is ending his daily newspaper column.

Feder, who has covered the Chicago media scene for 42 years, says he’s not retiring however and that his website, robertfeder.com, will continue to run.

The site, which has always been owned by its namesake, has run under a partnership with suburban Chicago’s Daily Herald newspaper, the same publication that features his column.

Going forward, that website partnership is ending, Feder said. The Herald will continue to feature his columns online via its archives, some of which require a paid membership.

Feder’s reports often appear in the Herald’s print edition as well as both websites.

Feder notes that stepping away from authoring a daily column and covering the media beat will allow him to “take on new opportunities with my full energy and dedication.”
