After a BuzzFeed News report that Donald Trump directed his then attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about a Russian development project broke evening, the story continued to dominate morning newscasts — unless you tuned into “Fox & Friends.”
- The network lead with a “Fox News Alert” about a “caravan” of Hondurans reaching the Mexican border, noted Media Matters researcher Bobby Lewis on Twitter.
- The show didn’t mention the BuzzFeed report until 41 minutes into the broadcast, according to Lewis.
- Even then, it was only to mention Rudy Giuliani’s response to the report and lasted approximately 22 seconds.
