
Disney scraps plans for scripted Muppets show on streaming service
Disney+ has pulled the plug on a scripted Muppets series for the streaming service.
- Josh Gad, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis were attached to the project, but since left over creative differences with new leadership at Muppets Studios, according to Variety.
- Disney announced at D23 just a few weeks ago that it is moving forward with a short form “unscripted” Muppets series for its streaming service called “Muppets Now.”
- A rockumentary style series “The Muppets” aired on Disney owned ABC in 2016, but was canceled.
