Is CNN ‘normalizing’ radicals by having white supremacist as guest?

CNN interviewed white supremacist Richard Spencer during its coverage of Donald Trump’s racist tweets, The Daily Beast notes.
The Daily Beast calls this “another example of a news outlet normalizing far-right radicals by giving them a mainstream platform.”
Spencer joined the show remotely with a background of Chicago behind him — which included the lower part of Trump Tower — though the camera did not capture the “Trump” signage on the side of the building.
The segment was during a segment on “The Lead with Jake Tapper.”
