Talk about embedded journalism: “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt voluntarily spent two nights in a maximum security federal prison.
- Holt spent time in a cell at Louisiana State Penitentiary, known more commonly as Angola.
- Reports on his experience and interviews with all sides of law enforcement and those incarcerated will air on NBC News properties all week.
- A special “Dateline” on Friday will recap his stay in Angola.
- Meanwhile, MSNBC will also air a town hall from inside Sing Sing Correction Facility in New York state.
