NPR doesn’t carry daily coronavirus briefing live

NPR opted to not carry the daily coronavirus press conference with Donald Trump’s task force Wednesday, March 25, 2020, according to “Here and Now” host Jeremy Hobson.
“Instead you’re hearing thoughtful reporting on COVID19 from around the world as well as up-to-the-minute news and analysis,” wrote Hobson.
Media watchers and insiders have called for the networks to stop carrying the daily briefings live because of what they say is misleading and false statements made mainly by Trump as well as what they see as campaign rally like tactics.
It’s not immediately clear of NPR will stop carrying the pressers altogether — and the network did carry clips from Wednesday’s event in later reporting, but with added context and fact checking.
If you tune into @NPR stations now, you are not hearing the live WH Press Conference. Instead you’re hearing thoughtful reporting on COVID19 from around the world as well as up-to-the-minute news and analysis.
