Russia has paid $1.4 million to air Kremlin-produced propaganda on a Washington, D.C. area radio station, reports the Center for Responsive Politics.
Shortly after Donald Trump’s election, RM Broadcasting began airing Russia propaganda on WZHF 1390, an AM radio station in Washington.
RM Broadcasting was eventually forced to register as a foreign agent.
WZHF is owned by a company named Way Broadcasting and previous aired bluegrass music.
Russia and RM have an agreement that runs through 2020 to air the propaganda.
RM gets approximately $55,000 a month as part of the deal along with periodic larger lump sum payments.
