Donald Trump’s “Toledo” gaffe wasn’t on the teleprompter, according to a Reuters photo from the room where he delivered the speech.
Holy Toledo, it wasn’t even on the TelePrompTer. pic.twitter.com/vviFo7vqMw

- According to the photo, the teleprompter read “May God bless the memory of those who perished in Texas and Ohio…”.
- Trump, instead, said “may God bless those who perished in Toledo.”
- It’s worth noting that the prepared text placed “Texas” first, but Trump referenced a city in Ohio first (albeit the wrong one).
- One possible explanation is that Trump combined “Texas” and “Ohio” to somehow form “Toledo.”
- The photo was taken from a side angle and showed the large media presence in the room along with a large television monitor serving as a teleprompter.
