CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is shown in a video clip firing back after a man called him an offensive nickname over the weekend.
The video, which was first shared with a conservative websites, depicts a man allegedly confronting Cuomo and calling him by the first name of “Godfather” character Fredo Corleone.
“Fredo is from the ‘Godfather,’ he was a weak brother and the use of it to an Italian is disparaging,” says Cuomo in the video.
He goes on to explain that the name is as offensive to Italian Americans as the N-word is to African Americans.
At one point, it appears the man attempts to convince Cuomo he really thought he shared a name with the “Godfather” character.
The situation then escalates with Cuomo threatening to throw the man “down these stairs” that will “wreck” him.
The clip ends with two other men attempting to separate the two.
CNN responded to inquiries about the video with a comment.
