Weather Channel returning to Verizon Fios

The Weather Channel and its sister network Local New are coming to Verizon Fios June 24, 2019.

• The channel will occupy Channel 611 for Fios TV customers and will come to the Fios app later in the fall.
• Fios TV has approximately 5.74 million subscribers (compare that to over 20 million for Comcast’s Xfinity TV services).
• In 2015, the Weather Channel and Fios were involved in a carriage dispute, with the main network and Weatherscan being abruptly removed for subscribers.
