An increasing number of YouTube TV users are reporting issues with the streaming TV service from Google Sept. 16, 2021.

Tweets are showing that various users in different parts of the country are experiencing difficulties watching recorded programs or viewing information about specific shows.

Live TV viewing doesn’t seem to be as affected.

Reports started trickling in in the early hours of the day before jumping higher as the morning went on, according to Downdetector, a third party service that lets users report issues with websites and web based services.

As of this writing, YouTube TV hasn’t issued any official statements.

Support times for customers appear to be increased as well — with 15 minute waits for live chat and 35 minute waits for a phone callback observed. Typically these options are available within minutes.

Some customers are reporting that YouTube reps are acknowledging there have been multiple reports of issues with the service on select devices but don’t have a definitive timeline for a fix.

Customers also report that some reps are offering one week extensions for the downtime.
