- Lester Holt, the broadcast’s current anchor, introduced a segment headlines “Brokaw’s Comments” about 12 minutes into Monday’s newscast.
- “The former longtime anchor of this broadcast is in the news,” said Holt, standing next to a video wall graphic of Brokaw.
- Holt then tossed to a package from Stephanie Gosk, which featured clips of Brokaw’s comments during a “Meet the Press” panel Sunday.
- Interestingly, NBC chose to frame the “Meet the Press” clips inside of a “tube style” TV frame.
- At the end of the report, Gosk appeared in-studio at the anchor desk with Holt, with a collage of photos of Brokaw and the Rock Center marquee behind them.
- Brokaw later issued an apology.
- Neither “CBS Evening News” or “ABC World News Tonight” covered the controversy on their Monday first feed editions.
