Former Fox favorite joins Trump campaign
Donald Trump’s campaign has hired frequent Fox guest Jenna Ellis, who has a history of making offensive remarks.
- Ellis is serving as the campaign’s senior legal adviser, reports NBC News.
- On her own social media, Ellis called the designation of the Stonewall Inn as a national monument a “celebration of sin.”
- She criticized director J.J. Abrams’ move to include more LGBTQ characters in his films, saying “Why not also a Muslim? Or a pedophile?”
- Ellis more recently criticized CNN’s LGBTQ town hall.
- While NBC counted more than 30 appearances on Fox programming in the year before Ellis joined Trump’s campaign, Fox spokesperson Carly Shanahan insisted that Ellis is “not” a former Fox contributor and “has never been part of this network.”
- “Jenna Ellis is a conservative who has been an ardent advocate for our founding Judeo-Christian principles, religious liberties and our Constitution,” the Trump campaign told NBC News in a statement.
- “It’s not surprising that as a new advocate for (Trump), she is under attack by the liberal media. Jenna has a keen legal mind and the … campaign values her input and counsel,” he added.
